so it's been a while since my last post and I want to first say hello to my new subbies (i heart you guys and spread the word)  who have joined me on BSL , It has been a very interesting summer so far. 

But the most amazing part of my summer so has to be me Finally realizing what i want to do with my self!!! 

 As many of you may know I love fashion!!! which of course includes hair and makeup!!!

so as of late of been really into getting my MUA skills up to part!! 

I really feel blessed to have my mind made up on were i want my future to go. 

With that being said it's time to get my makeup kit ready  and business cards made!!!

i'm stepping out on faith and following my passion where ever it may lead me I'm ready!!!!

Its close to 2 am and I cant sleep .. even tho I'm super tired and drained .. over the weekend i celebrated a close friends birthday and i dance and drank like it was 1999.. need less to say i had to work the next day and now since I'm home in my bed , i opted out of the the toss and turn battle and decided to share some photos of the night with you guys....

 my hair was pinned in the back then a simple roll and pin hump in the front.... my make up was simple with a pop of color... and my face very highlighted ...

I am ! that's why I came up with the 

"treatmyhairwithlove" challenge !

My hair has grown alot in the 15 months ive been natural  but i feel as if it can look better !

So this challenge isnt about reaching length its about your hair appearing healthier.

My regime is simple but I feel as if i can do more , put more in my hair, with that being said here's my new deep treatment( I call it deepT's)

* Coconut milk

*honey

* any oil (coconut,olive,jojoba)

* any conditioner  

leave that on for desired amount of time and then rinse with apple cider vinegar

 Im going to do this every week until .... further notice i guess..

Like every girly girl, I love makeup! I love how it looks feel , hell I even enjoy the packaging it comes in. so like many frugal gals I cant go and buy every brand, but i do go in and admire the different hues of eye shadows n lipsticks.. Here are a few photos..

Sunday morning talk

Coffee brewing,  I'm sitting by my kitchen window enjoying the early morning breeze which will be replaced by the beaming sun later...

I'm just reflecting on everything that has happen this week and being grateful.

Sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy the simple things. on a day to day we are pulled in so many different directions that we  lose sight of the most important YOURSELF.

That's why i enjoy doing my natural hair because  that's the time i have to enjoy me... make me feel good.

The other day a co worker asked me "girl who does your hair?" I replied "me".  she said wow  i couldn't ever imagine handling my natural hair. i told her it wasn't that hard ,  the same way you learned how to care for  your permed hair , you can do for your natural mane.

I feel  as if she was trying to be funny or smart but really just wanted to now  how can she go about becoming natural as well...

Needless to say  in good spirits i gave her my blog and Youtube info JUST in case she wanted in..lol

o wait( gets up pours cup of Joe, sips ahhh wait were was I?) 

So she took the info  and said thank you..

Alot of times other women dont know how to ask each other for info for the fear of  having them think your trying mimic them or "hate". which makes it sound as if she/he is trying to be funny ...

Point of the story is to have an open mind to any question anyone may have towards your natural hair , it  may not all be coming from a nasty "hateful" place. JUST  PURE CURIOSITY .

can coloring natural hair damage it or change its curl pattern?

Now I know when some naturals think  of coloring their hair it can be a little scary as well as allot of questions. but honestly the beauty of being a Natural is that now you can experience different colors without so much worry about it falling out .  Now about it changing your curl pattern in MY CASE no I'm still a PROUD 4a/4b curlie... Ive had my share of colors check it out....

June 2010 around  5 month natural honey blond

3/2011 "til" 5/2011 reddish color

Now back to black(my fav) :)

Now I'm going to honest when you have color in your hair you have to take EXTRA care of it.

Here's what I do...

* I cowash once a week  with very mild water(almost cold ) to keep the color vibrant

* I use shampoo/conditioner that is for COLORED TREATED HAIR ...

*seal the hair with my oil mix

* and style as usual ...

so my advice to ladies that are thinking of coloring , make sure you find the color that best fits you  and JUST DO IT...

Kinky Curly Curling Custard and Knot Today (retry)

then you might of seen my love/hate video about this product..

Over the weekend while at the mall i happened to see this store that carries "urban hair care"

and they had KINKY CURLY!!! i got both for around 23 bucks which isn't TOO bad.

This was the VERY FIRST product I purchased  when I first BIG CHOPPED.

FIRST OF ALL  I spent WAY to much MOOLAA on the two !!! and it didn't work for me all the time.

BUT NOW 1 YEAR LATER  I've decided to give it another go!!

Trend ALERT!!.

This season is all about head wear, rather it be a hat,scarf or the TURBAN LOOK.

So if you hair is wild or you just don't feel like taking down those twist/braids try this look for size.

I sure did yesterday......

All I did was pair my turban(which was $1) with my FAVORITE LIP COLOR (NARS CURELLA)

GRABBED MY (FOREVER21) VINTAGE LOOKING EARRING AND THAT'S IT!!

Did I concur wash day?

As you can see by the title

I think that after being natural for 15 months  I finally feel as if i concured WASHDAY!

WHY U ASK? WHY NOW AFTER ALL THIS TIME?

because for a year  and some change Ive been struggling with tangles , and matted hair after washing it.

talk about annoyed !!! So I got  on youtube and did some research and came  across this method.

 * parted hair in 4 sections and clipped

*once in the shower I co washed each section starting from the back .

*after each section was washed and rinsed i clipped it back and so on

*then I went back into each section with my leave IN conditoner and detangled and cliped

* Once done I just styled as usaul .

THIS METHOD  CUT MY WASH /DENTANGLE SESSION IN HALF!! WHICH IS CRAZY TO  ME

Another big chop?

hey ladies its been a while since my last post and i want to talk about hair !

I've had serious thoughts of cutting my hair AGAIN!

I know, i know but damn the task of keeping this mane under control has really taken it's toll!!

So to keep myself from going H.A.M on my hair, i got on YT  and began  to gain the motivation back!!

which to no surprise helped alot !!!

ladies tell me have you thought of BIGCHOPPING AGAIN?

If so how did you overcome it? or did you do i?

How can I fight dry Hair?

Fighting dry hair is a natural's worst war!

trust me I know!

I get this question alot on the streets , emails and facebook 

and my best adivce is :

co wash 2 to 3x's a day

toss that shampoo( it may be the aid to your dryness)

 deep treatments are a MUST atleast once a week TRY:YOUR FAVORAITE DEEP CONDISH,HONEY,AND COCONUT OIL 

get a GOOD LEAVE in and always seal those ends..( with any oil of your choice)

Going natural was the best choice I've  made thus far..

I'm almost 15 months post(BIG CHOP) and I cant believe how amazing this experience has been.

all the women I've come across, the growing amount of subbies on my youtube channel and  the  impact I've had on coworkers, neighbors  even strangers to go natural. But the biggest

change is the way i feel about myself .... I FEEL SEXIER THAN EVER!!!  I enjoy doing  my hair ( even though wash day sometimes is a task)  trying different products, styles I'm all for it!!! when i was relaxed i never touched my hair only to wrap it at night , that was it!  It's been a long road but the outcome has been even BETTER!

hair rules...

Natural hair is on the rise. from locs,big fro's even big chops!
but what's up with all the rules? we stoped relaxing and opted to be natural because of "the rules" so ladies if you want to dye your hair or cut it in a funky style do you.
note photo above.  I went against what most natural believe and dyed my hair a reddish color .. love it for spring and i STILL consider my self natural *pow*

Spring is near and all though the weather in New York is still chilly , Once you enter  department stores you can clearly see the hues  are getting ligther  and jewelry pieces are bolder.

While on 34th and Broadway I stepped into Forever 21 which neighbors Zara,H&M,and Steve Madden. I was excited  to see the cool pieces for spring but of course i made my way to their accsserioes section!! check out these amazing pieces all for under 15 BUCKS

While playing in bangles and rings I noticed this lady with dope style

Vintageroyalty is what she goes by as we talked I learned that she too is a jewelry designer!!

Ahh the joys of New york so much style so much  talent  !!!
